Health isn’t just for January

It can be a challenge to stay motivated and stick to that common New Year’s fitness resolution every year. You forget about the money spent on that new gym membership and active wear and by early February, the majority of us have given up on our resolutions. We want to help you reconnect with fitness and turn that New Year’s resolution in a stressless experience.

Rethink your attitude to exercise

Include exercise in your daily routine and view this as a normal everyday activity. Once you realise it has become a part of your everyday, this will stop any negative responses to working out and change how you view exercise.

Find Fitness Friends

A bit nervous or stuck on beginning your fitness journey? See if your gym runs group exercise classes and get a friend to come along or try and make friends with some of the people in the group. There may be a local running or cycling club you could join. Being part of an established group is a great way to stay motivated as their enthusiasm and participation will encourage you to do the same.

Create your own group

If you’d rather create your own group, get your friends, family or even people from work involved. Your fitness group can create its own routine or find one online – fitness personalities or bloggers use social media to put up exercise videos to add to existing workout routines.  Getting other people involved opens you up to more variations of workouts that you wouldn’t normally choose, pushing you out of your comfort zone and closer to your health goals.

Health isn’t just for January, it’s a lifestyle choice and a good one at that. Not only will you see a physical difference but your sleep pattern will improve and you’ll feel more wide awake and ready to tackle the day ahead.
